I think Adelaide has Australia’s best restaurants, and we want to guide our webapp users to these amazing venues!
So please help us, to help you, by putting more restaurants on our website that have been rated on noise level.
Venues that are consistently rated as quiet – low, we then approach for accreditation ๐
INSTRUCTIONS
It takes 30 seconds to leave a rating on your phone, here is how

2. Rate the restaurant based on level of ambience, food and service (tap on how many stars for food and service, and then tap on the ambience level)

Thanks for reading, thanks for rating, and thanks for helping the Ambient Menu guide people who want to engage over dinner, find conversation friendly restaurants.
Speaking as one who started boycotting top Melbourne restaurants because I don’t want to shout through meals, I can only hope this idea works! It’s got to be better than nothing. I’d write and tell them, but they don’t care. They don’t even care that it’s been demonstrated that loud environments impact upon taste and make it harder to tell that the food’s bad. I get that an inferior restaurant might find that useful, but why would high-end places be aiming at that?
So I found myself accepting a tradeoff where the food wasn’t as good, but I was in places where shouting was not part of the experience. I still make that tradeoff, but I wish I didn’t have to.
