is not your average café. Since May 2022, it has been providing a unique dining experience with changing daily specials and a warm, welcoming ambiance that makes visitors feel at home. Their menu features popular items such as their Cold Rolls and Turkey Bourbon and Brie Toastie, along with many GF and vegan options.

About Foliage

How long have you been open? 

We opened our current location in May 2022.

What kind of food do you serve?

We are not your typical café. Our daily specials change but our toasties, Bahn Mi and Cold Rolls are our most popular items followed closely by our cakes and many GF, Vegan option treats.

Do you have any signature dishes?

You need to try our Cold Rolls and Turkey Bourbon and Brie Toastie

What is your personal favourite dish and why?

I’m old fashion I can’t go past our delicious Ham and Cheese Croissants

What inspired you to open Foliage?

Foliage Coffee is dedicated to my Late Sister Dr. Dheeraji (Raji) Guterres. An amazing mother and Sister. She passed away suddenly and she is deeply missed. 

Is there any furniture / decorations that have a story or special meaning for you?

When building our last location my wife surprised me with two pink chairs and a black table. She knew my late sister loved pink.

She named it Raji’s Corner.

When we moved to our new location those chairs came with us as well, it’s a special connection I have with her. Often I sit there and think of her.

What efforts have you made to create this ambient space?

We’ve brought the outside inside and it’s allowed people to feel more at home. We’ve included amazing furniture and decor to help with making people feel safe, welcomed and loved.

Best compliment you’ve ever received about your café?

The vibe in here is unlike anywhere else. It really does make you feel like you are at home. The staff feel like an extension of our own family. 

Your staff always seem to happy and helpful when I come in, what’s the secret ?

They know how hard I work and I do the work I expect them to do. Therefore they also put in the same effort. It’s simply a family business to us all.

Laura also asked the staff why they were always so happy and one of them said “The Plants!“, the other said “The Coffee!“
